WestJet Cargo deployed the airline’s first freighter fleet and built a strong team of cargo experts in this year, Kirsten de Bruijn, Executive Vice-President, Cargo, WestJet, said. This year will also see WestJet Cargo expand its strategic partnerships, diversifying its product mix, and implementing the digital roadmap with respect to online marketplaces and a new website.
Also, WestJet Cargo opened 24 warehouses, 14 freighter handling stations, and expanded its cargo network to a total of 45 diverse destinations across the globe. A series of air cargo product launches, including Bike’Air and, recently, Safe’Air and partnerships with Flexport and Awesome Cargo, paved the way for its journey to becoming a key player in the aviation cargo industry.
