Australia and the UAE have signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), projected to boost Australian exports to the UAE by US$ 678 million annually. The trade deal, signed in Canberra, eliminates tariffs on over 99 per cent of Australian exports to the UAE, opening new opportunities for Australian farmers, manufacturers, and service providers. Key logistics and cargo sectors stand to benefit as Australian goods gain unprecedented access to the UAE market, strengthening Australia’s role in the Middle East. “This new trade and investment package will strengthen these relationships and provide a platform for growth in critical sectors of our economy. The trade agreement will eliminate tariffs on 99 per cent of Australia’s exports to the UAE, making it the most liberalised trade pact the UAE has signed till date,” Senator (Honorary) Don Farrell, stated in an official press release.
