SolitAir to introduce electric freighter in ME by year 2027

SolitAir shared they will be introducing an electric cargo aircraft in the Middle East by 2027. “Within the next three years, hopefully, we will be able to introduce the first electric freighter into the region. We will use it in the GCC nations. We will have a fuel-efficient one,” Hamdi Osman, Founder and CEO, SolitAir, said. “I have signed for manufacture of electric freighters with two manufactures—one in the USA and one in Asia. We have signed with the former for manufacture of 10 aircraft and 12 freighters with the other. I hope we will get the first delivery in 2027,” he added. The shift to electric aircraft aligns with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the aviation industry, especially as the UAE and other nations push for net zero emissions by 2050.
