Sharjah airport transports 42k tonnes of cargo in Q1 of 2024

Sharjah Airport saw significant cargo movement in the first quarter of 2024, with over 42,000 tonnes of cargo transported, Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman, Sharjah Airport Authority, said. He highlighted the airport’s commitment to providing safe travel and leading services, aiming to rank among the top five airports regionally. Al Midfa attributed Sharjah Airport’s growth to a long-term plan executed with strategic partners, focusing on operational excellence and global service standards. The authority remains dedicated to leveraging innovative technologies to enhance passenger experience and air traffic efficiency, ensuring a journey characterized by comfort and seamless operations, he added. He spoke on the ongoing expansion efforts set to increase capacity to over 25 million passengers annually by 2027.
