Logistics industry is witnessing a transformative leap through integration of RFID technology and AI systems. Rumman Chowdhury, US Science Envoy, CEO and Co-founder, Human Intelligence, said in recent discussion at GFS, “There is amazing use of technologies in logistics such as RFID technology and radio frequency, among others. It is basically these ID tags that go on products being shipped, which get automatically scanned. Rather than some human scanning or the traditional documentation, it would all be digitised. Though RFID technology existed in the last 20 years, what we needed was the ecosystem. We needed the cameras to be able to scan the RFID tag. For example, if something goes missing, if there is some sort of an aberration, maybe even a weather event or an accident, the AI system would be able to identify some sort of a deviation from the normal of what is expected, be able to alert people who need to do something about it, and help them take action immediatel,” he added.
