Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ) and FedEx Logistics have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a regional logistics facility in Qatar’s free zones. The facility, under FedEx Trade Networks Transport & Brokerage division, will be situated at Ras Bufontas Free Zone and will feature a state-of-the-art logistics office.

The MoU signing, attended by Sheikh Mohammed H. F. Al-Thani, CEO of QFZ, and Patrick Moebel, President and CEO of FedEx Logistics, took place during the Qatar Economic Forum. The new facility aims to support FedEx Logistics’ expansion and seamless integration into its global network, serving as a vital gateway for international cargo transition between Asia and Europe.

Located adjacent to Hamad International Airport and Qatar Airways, the facility offers enhanced access to air transportation and freight, efficient customs processing, convenience, and business growth opportunities in the region. Sheikh Mohammed H. F. Al-Thani highlighted the collaboration’s role in accelerating goods flow and strengthening global supply chains, emphasizing the shared commitment to growth and innovation within the logistics sector.

Patrick Moebel expressed pride in collaborating with QFZ to establish a facility that enables FedEx Logistics to expand globally while maintaining customer service excellence.

Situated at the intersection of three continents, with access to a significant portion of the world’s population within a short flying and sailing time, Qatar’s freight and logistics market is steadily growing, positioning the country as a leader in the logistics sector.
