Middle East Rail conference ends, seven pacts signed

The Middle East Rail conference concluded with a stimulating panel discussion on boosting multimodal capacities in UAE and the region. International and regional representatives from 30 countries, including eight ministers from Europe, the United Kingdom, North Africa, and the GCC participated. Hosted by Etihad Rail, seven agreements were signed to drive the development of its freight and passenger services. The discussion also centered around the integration of an efficient and sustainable rail system into the UAE’s and the GCC’s strategic land transport and port logistics network. The event, held on 15-16 May, was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court. The event is the largest rail conference in UAE and MENA. It is the only rail event to be run in partnership with the UAE government, hosting more regional and international government representatives than any other rail show.
