IATA’s ACDAP launched to keep a check on tracking devices

IATA introduced Air Cargo Device Assessment Programme (ACDAP) to ensure air cargo tracking devices, data loggers and sensor-equipped devices meet industry safety standards, Brendan Sullivan, Global Head, Cargo, IATA, said. “The fastest-growing segments of air cargo are pharma, perishables, electronics, and high-value goods. Shippers rely on various battery-powered electronic devices to monitor these shipments to ensure their integrity. The IATA programme will confirm that these devices comply with the industry safety standards.” The programme’s s overall success will enhance the efficient delivery of time-and temperature-sensitive shipments, minimising waste and maintaining shipment integrity. THE BOX, a reusable packing solution by LivingPackets, is the first product validated by the ACDAP.
