IATA has launched the SAF Registry to enable airlines and corporate customers to claim emissions reductions under regulatory and voluntary schemes, said Marie Owens Thomsen, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and Chief Economist, IATA. “In releasing the SAF Registry, we have put in place a platform for the benefit of all stakeholders. It ensures all airlines will have access to SAF and their SAF purchases can be claimed against any climate-related obligations in this domain. The registry will record the environmental attributes of SAF purchases. Airlines, fuel producers, regulatory bodies, and all related organisations will be able to record and account for their SAF transactions globally,” she said.
