Hapag-Lloyd reported a Group EBITDA of US$ 3.6 billion and a Group profit of US$ 1.8 billion for the first nine months of 2024. Although the results fell short of the previous year due to lower freight rates early in the year and higher transport costs from rerouting ships, increased demand and higher freight rates in Q3 boosted earnings significantly. “The first nine months of 2024 were marked by strong demand. Despite the Red Sea crisis and the associated rerouting of ships, we were able to increase our transport volumes compared to 2023 and can look back on good results overall. Looking ahead, we will continue to implement our Strategy 2030, while focusing on our growth and quality targets,” Rolf Habben Jansen, CEO, Hapag-Lloyd AG, said.
