Gulf Air Group (GFG) reported an 11.2 per cent increase in cargo operations, handling 390,000 tonnes in the previous year, as per GFG official release. This growth was bolstered by the launch of the first phase of the Express Cargo Village at Bahrain International Airport, set to boost cargo capacity to 1.3 million tonnes annually from the current 360,000 tonnes. “The airline strengthened its fleet with the addition of two new A321NEO aircraft, bringing the fleet size to 42. Building on its commitment to connectivity, Gulf Air forged 23 (new or renewed) pacts with leading airlines. The airline also expanded its codeshare network to 20 partners, including a new agreement with Azerbaijan Airlines, and increased codeshare destinations by 10 through an expanded partnership with Thai Airways,” the release stated.
