As the demand in global cargo spot rates has surged six months in a row in H1 2024, certain airlines and forwarders are thinking of implementing a peak season surcharge by August-end, Niall van de Wouw, Chief Air Freight Officer, said. He added, “June’s growth in demand was not surprising and we were expecting a continuation of double-digit YoY growth in July and August because of low demand in the same months in 2023.
