
Nadeem Sultan, Senior Vice President, Cargo Planning and Freighters, Emirates, said, “Within the company where we have an element of protection from external factors. But, to maximise the benefit, we need to connect with the outside world. And that brings risks. We are looking at addressing those risks through platforms such as these. As an airline, we will connect with other players within the supply chain.” The airline works with global regulatory bodies to ensure data protection and standardisation across the air cargo supply chain. Emirates addressed the growing importance of cybersecurity in the air cargo industry, emphasising the need to mitigate risks brought on by emerging technologies. “We will continue to do so collectively with everybody in the industry which I think, through ICAO, IATA, regulators, the civil aviation authorities, multiple forums, and stakeholders are addressing this. We expect that this will be resolved in the coming years,” he added.
