Emirates SkyCargo has stated it recorded a 7% increase in air freight growth in 2023 as compared to the previous year (2022). By lifting over 1,183,000 tonnes of cargo from January to mid-December, it stated, it has outperformed the market growth. “2023 was a pivotal year for Emirates SkyCargo. Despite ongoing fluctuations in air freight, long-term trends indicate that the industry is growing at a rate of 3-5% YOY. Looking to the future, we are positioned to steadily scale up operations in 2024, continuing our strategic growth to ensure we lead the industry in solutions that are fast, reliable, flexible, and efficient,” Nabil Sultan, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates SkyCargo said. The airline stated it has made leaps towards its long-term strategic growth plans to double capacity in the next decade and cement its leading position in global air logistics. In line with the Dubai Economic Agenda, Emirates SkyCargo is on a journey to grow Dubai’s position as the world’s largest logistics hub, expanding its fleet and network to better serve global customers, he added.
