Celebrating a decade of dual airport operations, Emirates SkyCargo has demonstrated the strength of its trucking fleet and bonded corridor. Covering the distance between Dubai World Central and Dubai International Airport, the company offers a seamless five-hour air-to-air transfer service. The fleet, consisting of 60 trucks operating 24x7, acts as a conveyor between DWC’s freighter operations and DXB’s bellyhold operations. Since May 2014, these trucks have transferred over 2.16 million tonnes of cargo through 640,000 trips. This service facilitates trade to over 150 destinations globally. “Establishing a reliable trucking service has been essential to our dual airport hub’s success, enabling seamless shipment transfers,” Robert Fordree, Senior Vice President, Cargo Operations Worldwide, said. Emirates SkyCargo also introduced a road feeder service, enhancing regional connectivity. This service has seen significant transit traffic from GCC markets like Saudi Arabia and Bahrain since 2020.
