Emirates SkyCargo reported a 16 per cent year-on-year increase in transported cargo, totalling 1,198,000 tonnes in the H1 2024. This growth was driven by high demand for e-commerce shipments, especially from China, and a surge in goods bound for Dubai. To meet the rising demand, Emirates expanded its fleet, adding one new Boeing 777 freighter and two leased Boeing 747 freighters. Cargo yields increased by 11 per cent, underscoring Emirates’ strong network of freighter and belly-hold operations. “We expect demand to remain strong for the rest of 2024-25, and we look forward to increasing our capacity to grow revenues as new aircraft join the Emirates fleet and new facilities come online at dnata. The outlook is positive, but we don’t intend to rest on our laurels. We will stay agile in deploying our capacity and resources in a dynamic marketplace,” His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, said.
