Emirates expands cargo capacity on Madagascar route

Emirates will enhance its cargo capacity between Seychelles and Madagascar; four to six weekly flights will take off starting April 2025, Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Senior VP, Commercial Operations, West Asia and the Indian Ocean, Emirates, said. Each flight’s bellyhold, accessible via Emirates SkyCargo, can transport up to 20 tonnes of cargo, boosting capacity for Madagascar’s trade and export sectors.  The route will continue to operate as a tag-on leg between Seychelles International Airport and Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo. “It will boost our services to Madagascar by offering two additional flights per week in line with soaring demand since the start of our operations. Our growing flight schedule to the island means better linkage, more choice and convenient options. Enhancing services will also strengthen the economic ties between Madagascar and the UAE, bolstering trade lanes with additional cargo capacity,” he added.
