Dubai Trade, the digital arm of DP World in the GCC region, has crossed 300 million transactions since the platform was established in 2003, eliminating 617 million printed documents and saving 25,400 MT of emissions, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO, DP World, said.
The achievement comes on the back of a record-breaking 32.6 million transactions recorded by Dubai Trade compared to 26 million the year before, representing a 25 per cent increase. Out of these, 48 per cent of the transactions were related to clearance and border controls, with 44 per cent falling under cargo handling and logistics.
Today Dubai Trade facilitates nearly 90,000 transactions daily and boasts a user base of 180,000 traders and a digital ecosystem offering 700 digital solutions.
“Dubai Trade’s growth since 2003 reflects our focus on improving the flow of trade through digitalisation, which is aligned with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33,” Sulayem added.
