DP World and Einride announced a partnership to electrify inter-terminal container flows at Jebel Ali Port, the 10th busiest port globally, Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO, DP World GCC, said. This marks the Middle East’s largest deployment of electric, autonomous freight mobility, operating 24x7 in the region. To commence by this year-end, the collaboration will scale up to support 1,600 container movements daily. Einride Saga, the digital operating system, will manage a fleet of 100 connected electric trucks. An autonomous pilot is scheduled to be deployed in 2025. At full capacity, the initiative is projected to save up to 14,600 tonnes of CO2e and 158 tonnes of nitrogen oxide.

This partnership is part of Einride’s broader initiative with the UAE Government, advancing sustainable shipping, Robert Falck, CEO, Einride, said.
