
IATA hosted an engaging panel on women in air cargo on the final day of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Dubai. The session hosted leading women from the industry. Cristina Oñate López de Letona, VP, Sustainability & Product, LATAM Cargo, discussed how delays impact cargo operations. “Hearing of flight delays can really impact my day negatively,” she explained. Gabriela Hiitola, SVP, Finnair Cargo, added often cargo operators like her are mistaken to be working in dark warehouses. “That is not what I do. In fact, cargo is complex and creative,” she said. She went on to explain why diversity in the industry is important to take air cargo forward.
