DHL Express has inaugurated its US$48.3 million Airport Gateway & Service Centre (AGSC) at Zayed International Airport. “The opening of this advanced facility signifies DHL’s unwavering dedication to the UAE and the MENA region,” Nour Suliman, CEO, DHL Express MENA, said. The facility, located in the airport’s future cargo area, spans 20,000 square metres with a built-up area of 10,800 square metres and has the potential to expand by up to 150 per cent. The new centre includes an import and export gateway, service centre, logistics centre, and road network. It can process 3,600 shipments per hour, serving over 500 customers. The centre features advanced X-ray screening, bonded storage, and a bi-directional conveyor system for efficient sorting. It also includes a multi-logistics fulfilment and storage centre and serves as the warehouse for DHL’s Middle East Road Network, facilitating cross-dock truck operations connecting the UAE with GCC and Levant countries.
