Abu Dhabi Airports (AUH) has commenced construction of the East Midfield Cargo Terminal (EMCT) at Zayed International Airport, Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and CEO, said. Spanning 90,000 square metres, the facility aims to bolster the airport’s cargo and logistics capabilities, reinforcing its role as a key hub for global and regional supply chains. The AUH operates five airports across the emirate, including Zayed International, Al Ain International, and Al Bateen Executive Airport. “The EMCT is a cornerstone of our vision to transform Abu Dhabi into a global logistics powerhouse. This facility will enhance our cargo handling capacity, create new business opportunities, and contribute significantly to the emirate’s economic diversification,” Sorlini added.
