The global air cargo rates rose by 1 per cent for the week 5-11 August in comparison to the week ending on 4 August, as per the latest air freight data analysis by World ACD. There was a significant increase of 13 per cent year-on-year with a massive contribution from the Middle East and South Asia region. As per the data, the MESA region experienced a growth of 55 per cent YoY in air cargo spot rates, the highest among all the regions. Also, the average global air cargo rates in the first week of August 2024 were US$2.71/kg, which saw a growth of 22 per cent YoY.
