Jophin Vaarghese, CEO, Freighter Shipping & Logistics LLC, said, “We are very optimistic about 2025. Compared to 2024, we anticipate at least a 20% increase in business volume across air freight, sea freight, and other segments. By then, we also hope that regional tensions will have subsided, creating a more favorable environment for trade. Historically, we have primarily focused on exports, operating as an export house. However, we are now expanding our efforts to develop import shipments, particularly from Europe to the GCC. Additionally, there is significant activity in imports from South America to this region, and we are targeting these two sectors to compensate for the decline in exports. In terms of re-exports, volumes have remained stable. Jebel Ali continues to play a key role as a major transshipment hub, with consistent cargo flows from the Far East and India being re-exported to Africa and other regions. This stability in re-export volumes has been a significant advantage for us. However, we have noticed a decline specifically in exports from our region, which we are working to address. Looking ahead, based on our 2024 volumes, we expect significant improvements in 2025. As things stand, 2025 is shaping up to be a strong year for freight forwarders and the broader industry.”
